Wilma Jean Wieckert, born August 25 ^th , 1945, at the age of 79, passed away peacefully at her home on November 3 ^rd , 2024, in Herrin, IL. Wilma was the beloved daughter of the late Alvin Wieckert and Myrtle Kalbhen (Wieckert) and sister of the late Ronald Wieckert, and Kenneth Wieckert and his late wife Joanne Yonulatis (Wieckert). Wilma was the aunt to the late Erica Kubena (Wieckert) and her husband Daniel Kubena. Wilma was survived by her godson/nephew Alan Wieckert, and his wife Catherine Varney (Wieckert).

Wilma was a devout member of Edgebrook Evangelical Covenant Church in Chicago, IL and the former St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Chicago, IL. She was an avid book reader and a member of a few book clubs.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 7th, from 3:00 p.m. until time of Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W Lawrence Ave, Norridge. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the Wieckert family asks that you make a donation in Wilma Jean’s honor to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org) or Hospice of Southern Illinois, Inc. (hospice.org).
