William D. Smith, age 76. Veteran Army Reserve. Former Principal & Founder of Northside Learning Center. Beloved husband of Ann R. nee Williams. Loving father of William T. “Tim” C.P.D. (Carin) Smith & Mara (Jeff) Jost. Cherished grandfather of Colin, Shannon, Kathleen, Brendan & Linnea. Dear brother of Patricia (the late James) Reddington, Terrence & the late B. Thomas Smith. Brother-in-law of the late James (the late Ellen) Williams. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Visitation Monday 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge. Funeral Services begin Tuesday 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home and will proceed to St. Paul of the Cross Church, Mass 10:00 a.m. Final resting place All Saints Cemetery. William received the Whitman Award for Excellence in Education Management & The Borg-Warner Outstanding Leadership Award.
