William Perchak
September 8, 1956 — July 29, 2025
William “Bill” Perchak, 68, of Elburn, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025.
Growing up, Bill was an altar boy at St. Pascal Parish in Chicago and was a man of Catholic faith throughout his life. He attended St. Patrick High School and later graduated at the top of his class from the University of Illinois with a degree in Industrial Design. While at the university, Bill was a member of the hockey team and earned a black belt in Taekwondo, reflecting his drive and commitment to excellence in everything he pursued.
Bill was a man of rare talent, depth, and generosity. His professional achievements were remarkable. He was an award-winning designer with a sharp, inventive mind. He developed numerous innovative plastic products—ranging from cosmetic packaging to the widely used medical syringe disposal container that is still used today. He launched his own design and packaging company and held multiple patents, becoming a respected figure in the field of industrial design.
His talents, however, extended far beyond his career. Bill was incredibly gifted in the arts, with a deep passion for painting and sculpture that began in college and continued throughout his life. He was always developing new styles and techniques, with a natural eye for color, detail, and emotional expression. His artwork was an integral part of who he was, reflecting his lifelong drive to create beauty and meaning.
Equally passionate about music, Bill was a phenomenal guitarist and vocalist. He recorded at Al Green Studios in Memphis, TN, and played background guitar for artists including LeAnn Rimes. His musicality was effortless, soulful, and deeply appreciated by all who heard him play.
Bill also had a deep understanding of mechanics and automotive systems. He wasn’t just a car enthusiast—he had an impressive technical knowledge that matched his love for performance vehicles, especially his Porsche.
What truly defined Bill was his generous heart and desire to uplift others. He had a gift for seeing people’s potential and inspired many to explore and pursue their own talents, encouraging them to develop and embrace what they were capable of.
Bill was preceded in death by his father Charles Jr., his grandparents Charles Sr. & Anna, Matteo & Vincenza, and his brother Bob. He is survived by his beloved partner Lily; his mother Mary; his brother Charles III; sister-in-law Sarah; nephew Matthew; Alissa (Chase Elder); and Jaxon, Ava, and Luca.
