William Hoeflich

William “Bill” Hoeflich, age 73, passed away January 1, 2024. Bill was born August 26,1950 to John and Mary Hoeflich and was the youngest of 11 children. He lived his entire life in the Chicago area where he enjoyed spending time with family, friends, traveling and visiting casinos. Bill met his wife, Jody, in high school and were married on March 28, 1969. They spent 41 years together until her passing in 2010. A couple years later he met Cindy Criswell and spent many years together until her passing in September of 2023. He worked at American Airlines Freight for more than 40 years. Bill had a gruff exterior, but a heart of gold and was always there for you. While he enjoyed casinos, his favorite thing to do was to spend time with his grandchildren and he never missed an opportunity to be with them.
Brunk will be dearly missed, along with the “Hoeflich” laugh that he shared with his brothers and nephews.
Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Hoeflich nee Wendt, and long-time partner Cindy Criswell. He is survived by his sons Christopher (Michelle) Hoeflich and Anthony (Rosa) Hoeflich along with his grandchildren Gabriella (Kevin) Jez, Anthony Jr, Nathan, John and Stephanie.
Bill is also survived by his sisters Barbara (the late Joseph) Bopp and Carol (Robert) Danaher and brother Peter (Phoung), many nieces and nephews and long-time family friend Cheryl (the late Robert) Murphy.
In addition to his parents John and Mary Hoeflich and in-laws, Bernard and Catherine Wendt, he is preceded in death by his sisters Marilyn (the late James) Kozak, Joan (the late Walter) Masnyk and Theresa (the late Robert) Bryant; brothers Louis, John (the late Perrue and the late Donna), Richard (the Late Elsa) and Michael.
Visitation Sunday, January 7, 2024 from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL 60706. Funeral Services Begin Monday 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home and will proceed to St. Cyprian Church in River Grove for Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment Private.
