William Crissie

William Joseph Crissie, 93 years, was the real deal and a genuine Sicilian. 'Willie Gumpy' worked hard all of his life whether he hawked newspapers, shined shoes, installed elevators and electricity, paved streets, or he excelled as the 'do-right' man and he did so out of a great love for his family. He enjoyed retirement by spending countless hours with his many good friends from the Walking Club and the Niles Senior Center, all who will miss his sparkling wit, good-natured humor and great storytelling. William is predeceased by his loving wife Maddalena nee Russo. One of nine siblings, he is survived by his sister Linda, his children Steven (Barbara), Rosalie, William (Linda) and Carol. He was a loving grandfather to Kelly Ann, Brian, Michael, William Joseph, Gia, Carly, Nicholas, Tiffany, Thomas, Richard, Harold, Robert and Stephanie. He enjoyed being a great papa to Jessica, Jordan, Aaron, Dylan, Dominic, Maddalena, Amelia, and Christopher William. He is also survived by his many dear nieces and nephews.Visitation Friday October 11 from 3 to 9:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge.
