Wasyl 'Bill' Pawlenko, born in Lyapatyha, Ukraine on February 15, 1927, passed away peacefully in his home, with his daughter at his side on November 5, 2021, 3 months shy of his 95th birthday. Beloved husband of the late Alexandria (nee Cheroim.) Loving father to Vera 'Bipa' Pawlenko, Mykola Pawlenko and the late Walter 'Wally' Pawlenko. His pride and joy in life were his family, especially when he became a Grandfather to Kolya (Olenka) Hill, Tania Hill and Victoria Hill. Luckily he even lived to meet and share special moments as a Great-Grandfather to Sashko and Levko Hill.
Dear brother to Simon (Brenda) Pawlenko, Raisa (the late Greg) Skrebetz, Lydia (Walter) Karpenko and the late Paul (the late Justina) Pawlenko, the late Nadia (the late Alex) Diaczenko, the late Polia (the late Victor) Semitka.
Loving son to the late Pawlo and the late Maria Pawlenko. Fond uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Wasyl was a long time employee of Norfolk & Southern Railroad and once retired kept busy with his beloved garden and garlic (the secret to his longevity.)
Wasyl was a Jack of all Trades and Master of Everything. Anything Bill built or fixed was guaranteed for life. Bill was always ready and eager to help family, friends, neighbors, his church and children's camps with building, fixing or repairing as necessary. Bill was a kind, generous, talented hard worker with a great sense of humor that created some wonderful fondest memories.
He will be missed greatly by his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him. 'Vichnaya Pamyat' Memories Eternal.
