Walter R. Sklarz, age 88, WWII Air Force Veteran. Long time resident of Harwood Heights. Beloved Husband of Emily 'Mitzi' Sklarz nee Kulig for 64 years. Loving Father of Thomas (Judi) Sklarz, Victoria (Richard) Maddaleni and Kathleen (Mike) Hyder. Son of the late Thomas and Anna Szklarz. Fond Grandfather of Heather, Peter, Kimberly, Kristine, Derek and Ashley. Great Grandfather of Reagan, Peter, Logan, Brianna and Landon. Dear brother of Helen (the late Austin) McGinn and the late Marian Szklarz. Fond Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Walter was one of the first police officers in Harwood Heights and later became a Harwood Heights police commissioner for 17 years. Visitation Tuesday from 3:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge.
