Walter J. Meyer, age 78, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2024. Beloved husband of Karen (nee Ketter). Loving father of Nicole Meyer Klarich, Natalie Meyer (Todd Warren) and Kelly (Travis) Kotowicz. Cherished grandfather of Chiara, Trinity, Ella, Matthew and Rylan. Dear brother of David (Mary) Meyer, Elaine (Leroy) Abba, Thomas (Virginia) Meyer and the late Alfred (Mary) Meyer. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Walter was a kind, honest, and gentle soul who was devoted to his family and his wife, Karen, of 55 years , dedicated to his career where he made many friends over his long 40 year career at Hanna Cylinders, was loved and respected by everyone that knew him. He had more patience than anyone and kept a smile on his face even in the toughest of times. His grandkids were his favorite people and he would light up immediately when they were around. Fishing was his passion and he was always looking forward to the next time he was able to go and had the photos to back up his “fish stories!” He was a die-hard Cubs fan, loved playing cards, and was known for his Swedish pancakes. He was a quiet fighter whose unbreakable spirit will be missed dearly.
Visitation for Walter will take place on Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge, Il. Interment will be private.
