Virginia E. Slattery (nee Jacobs) age 99, at rest on February 21, 2022. Virginia was a United States Navy Nurse during WWII at the Greats Lakes Naval Base in North Chicago, Illinois. Beloved wife of the late Frank J. Slattery who was a Retired C.P.D Captain and was an Army/Air Force Veteran during WWII and the Korean War. Loving mother of Maria G. Slattery. Dear sister of Roland "Jake" (the late Elaine) Jacobs. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place on Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 am and then tributes to Virginia will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge, Illinois. The funeral will then proceed to Our Lady Mother of the Church for 11:30 a.m. Mass. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, Il.
