Therese Marie Thurber

Therese M. Thurber (nee Sulka), age 98, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 23, 2026. Therese was the beloved wife of the late Robert J.; loving mother of Timothy (Julie) Thurber and Yvonne (Michael) Burke and the late Charlene (Michael) Widmaier and the late Duane (the late Susan) Thurber; dear daughter of the late Bernice and Louis Sulka; cherished grandmother of Valerie, Scott, Jessica (Jesse), Laura (Matt), Melissa (Karl) Theresa (Jacob), Todd, Lindsey and Bryan; great grandmother of 5. Therese was a dear sister-in-law to Wilma Sulka. She was preceded in death by her 5 siblings, and was a fond aunt of many. Visitation Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge. Funeral services begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home, and then proceed to Our Lady, Mother of the Church in Chicago for Mass at 11:00 a.m. The interment will follow at Maryhill Cemetery in Niles.
