Steven Jones

Steven LaFayette Jones, age 49, born in Houston, TX on February 20, 1966, died May 9, 2015 in Washington DC. Leaving Houston for Chicago in his early 20s, he pursued his creative passions as a graduate of Columbia College Chicago, and worked as a sound recordist for film and TV in the Chicago and DC areas. He had an inventive photographer's eye, love of avant-garde and experimental film, deep appreciation of 70's Funk and early Floyd, and enthusiasm for Arsenal Football Club and the Bulls. A Buddhist practitioner, he grew in grace and compassion as his illness progressed. Beloved of his fiance and partner of 14 years, Theresa Scheuermann. Survived by his parents James Jones of Houston, TX and Suzanne (Dick) Zimmerman of The Villages, FL, brother Jeffrey Jones, nephew Joshua Jones, great-nephew Mason, sister K.C. Jones (Wayne) Roberson, nephews Iain and Asher Roberson, aunt Kim (Richard) Reynolds, numerous family and friends. Visitation Sat, June 6 from 10 -11 a.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W.
