Stephanie Wahnert, nee Filarski, age 101, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025.
For 55 years Stephanie was the beloved wife of the late Roy Wahnert ; loving mother of Roy (Jan) Wahnert, Pam (Neal) Zimmer, Pat (Larry) Ybarra and Paulette (Stan) Pociask; cherished grandmother of Marcie Zawistowski, Jeff (Trish) Ybarra, Chris (Teresa) Ybarra, Steve Wahnert, Amy (Shawn) Aschliman, Mark Pociask, Matt (Hailey) Pociask, Stephanie (Nick) Bryant, and Luke Pociask. She was the proud great grandmother of Addison, Mackenzie, Colton and Gianna Ybarra. She was the dear daughter of the late Catherine and Jacob Filarski and predeceased by three brothers and a sister; Bruno (Josephine) Filarski, Mitchell ( Anna) Filarski, Jean (Jack) Kramer, and Edward (Loretta) Filarski. She was a fond aunt of many.
Family was everything to Stephanie and she was happiest when surrounded by her extended family during the holidays and family celebrations. She was a member of the Polish Women's Alliance and a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs.
Visitation Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. We will then proceed to St. Eugene Church (Queen of Peace Parish) in Chicago for Mass at 11:30 a.m. The entombment will follow at Maryhill Mausoleum in Niles. For more information call (708)456-8300.
