Stephanie Brudny Ovcharchyn, age 95, passed away on Friday March 10, 2017. Beloved daughter of the late Stephen and the late Anna Brudny. Loving mother of Christine Devitt Westley (the late John Westley), Steve (Jannon) Mark, and Mary (the late Keith) Prosser. Fond grandmother of Emily (Markian) Pawluk Sr. Mary Agnes (Katie), P.C.C., Michael (Briana) Devitt, Karen (Matt) Sutter, Tommy and Hannah. Great grandmother of Lyla and Maksym. Dear sister of Mary Brudny and the late Helen (John) Melinyshyn. Fond aunt of Lev (Delia) Melinyshyn, Paul (Dawn) Melinyshyn, John (Jill) Melinyshyn and Bohdan Kardasiuk. and great aunt of Stephanie Melinyshyn, Samantha (Andy) Sturgeon, Matt and Mark Melinyshyn. Stephanie was a retired Chicago Public Schools teacher for 25 years at Bass and Randoph elementary schools in the Englewood Neighborhood and was a member of the Ukrainian National Womans' League of America. Visitation Friday March 17, 2017 from 3:00 until 9:00 p.m. with a Panachyda service at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Saturday beginning at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. and will then proceed to St. Joseph the Betrothed Ukrainian Catholic Church for Divine Liturgy at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.
