Stamatia Karapournos nee Mourounas, 78, passed away September 16, 2020. Beloved wife of Nick Karapournos for 57 wonderful years. Loving mother of Mary (Nikita) Andriotis, Dora (Jim) Diamond, and Joanne (Dan) Matusek. Beloved daughter of the late Nicholas and the late Theodora Mourounas. Loving grandmother of Jimmy (Amara), Nikko (Leah), Costa (Jo), Tina, Elaine, John. Dear sister of Kiriakoula Loparnos, Evgenia Delios, and Ploumi Andreadakis. Fond aunt of many. Stamatia will forever be remembered for her devotion to her family. Visitation will be Friday, September 18, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, Elmhurst. Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (website link below).
