Sonia Picardal Bunao Madjos, age 75, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025, surrounded by her devoted family. Sonia was the beloved wife of Ernie Lito "Ernie" for 52 years of love and companionship. She was a cherished mother to Heintze (Carmencita) and Ryan (Judith) Madjos and a proud grandmother to Kimberly (Stephen) Borzon and Kenneth Erntze Madjos.
Sonia was the loving daughter of the late Concepcion and Florentino Bunao. She was also a caring sister to Augustus (Aida) Bunao and the late Rolando, Luzminda, Ferdinand Sr., Archibald, Flordeliz, Edwin, and Alicia. Her legacy extends to countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom will fondly remember her kindness and warmth.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 46 N Wolf Rd, Northlake at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to join for mass and to celebrate Sonia’s life. Afterward, a visitation will take place at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The services will conclude in the evening, with the interment to take place in Iligan City, Philippines.
