Siva Martin (nee Mardirossian) peacefully passed away at his home on Monday, November 16 at the age of 90, following a reoccurrence of cancer. Siva was the devoted son of the late Altoon (Goldie) Martin (nee Baronian), beloved husband of Mary (nee Kaprelian), loving father of Robert Mardirossian (Mary Alice Lavin) and Jack Mardirossian, fond brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and cherished friend to many. He proudly served in the U.S. Army’s airborne forces during WWII as a paratrooper. He earned his undergraduate degree from Loyola University and his Master’s Degree from Northwestern University. In 1953, he graduated with honors from DePaul School of Law. Prior to a distinguished legal career working at National Boulevard Bank, Illinois State Bank and private practice, he was a tenured teacher at Manley Public High School. Teaching was a passion of Siva's and throughout his career, he taught real estate principles to aspiring realtors. Mr. Martin served as District Chairman for Boy Scouts of America and President of the Chicago Chapter of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU). He lived a full and caring life in which he readily extended himself to others. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.
