Devoted mother of Steve Girten, Linda Girten, and Sharon (the late Anthony) Girten-Dunovsky. Loving grandmother of Matthew (Amanda) Podgorski, Aimee (Sean) Lagerstrom, and Alexis (Ryan) Cabot. Great grandmother of Jaxon, Alaya, and Brayden Cabot, Sutton Lagerstrom, and Baby Podgorski on the way. Dear sister of Marilyn (the late John) Markowitz, Barbara (the late Anthony Piazza), the late Arthur (Joan) Schalk, the late Robert (Kathy) Schalk, the late Margaret (the late Kenneth) Seidler, and the late Lorraine (the late John) Wirag. Former wife of the late Larry Girten. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Shirley will be remembered for her dedication to her family and her love of music and dancing. Memorial Visitation will be Sunday, September 28, from 1:00 p.m. until time of Memorial Service at 5:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W Lawrence Ave, Norridge.
