Sarah (Halloran) Casey, February 18, 1929 – June 11, 2025. Sarah (Halloran) Casey passed away peacefully at home at the age of 96.
Sarah was born in Rosmuc, County Galway, Ireland. Sarah came to the United States at the age of 18 and was the first in her immediate family to immigrate to Chicago. It was in Chicago that Sarah met her treasured husband the late Henry Casey of 53 years. Together they worked hard and raised five children: Thomas (Linda), the late Patrick J. Casey, Maureen (Terry) Cavanaugh, Eileen (Jim) Andersen and Kathleen.
Loving grandmother of Kimberly Casey, Kelly Casey, Timothy (Courtney) Casey, Katy (Dave) Kersey, Jimmy (Revi) Casey, Patrick (Kate) Cavanaugh and Maggie Cavanaugh, Jimmy and Ryan Andersen, Valerie, Michael, Joseph and Jimmy Casey.
Great grandmother to Daniel Salazar, Casey Kersey, Dylan Casey and Wesley Casey.
Sarah is also survived by her dear sister Nora Masterson (the late Hugh) and many cherished nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents Thomas and Ann (nee Hynes) Halloran along with her siblings Mary Conroy, Ann Masterson, Barbara Nee, Mickey, Coleman and Paddy Halloran.
Sarah welcomed everyone who entered her home. Her door was always open to share stories, laughter and love over a good cup of tea and her delicious scones. Sarah was a warm hearted Irish woman with a strong faith in God and an infectious hearty laugh. Sarah will be missed dearly and will remain in our hearts forever.
Visitation for Sarah will take place on Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 3:00 pm unitl 9:00 pm at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge, Il. Funeral Friday, beginning at the funeral home at 9:00 am and then proceed to St. Monica Church for 10:00 am Mass. Interment will follow at Maryhill Cemetery in Niles, Il.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital (shrinerschildrens.org)
