Sandra Stancy

Sandra L. Stancy, age 80, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025 at Edwards Hospital in Naperville, IL surrounded by family. Sandi was the beloved wife of the late Walter T. Stancy and the dearest daughter to the late Olga and Edward Small. Sandi was a devoted and loving mother to W. Thomas (Amanda Ulbert), Scott (Melissa), and Donna Stancy.

Sandi often spoke about her cherished and spoiled  grandchildren; Jacob, Payton, and Caleb.

She was a fond sister-in-law of Edward Stancy, and the late David, Patricia, and Christine and a caring aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Sandi was known for her fun-loving spirit, energetic nature, and contagious smile.  Sandi brought joy to everyone around her.  Her compassion, thoughtful, nurturing, and selfless demeanor made her not only a loving mother to her own children but a maternal figure to many. Sandi enjoyed spending time with her family, going out to lunch with her friends and playing the slot machines or poker.

Sandi served her country with pride through her work at the United States Department of Defense and volunteered her time and support to the Jr. Warriors Feeder basketball program in Des Plaines, IL for many years.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL.

Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, July 18, 2025 at the funeral home, and then proceed to St. Mary's Church in Des Plaines, IL for mass at 10:30 a.m. All services will conclude following mass at the church.
