Steigerwald, 81, U.S. Army Korean War Veteran, awarded two bronze stars; 40 years of service with Chicago Fire Department; Beloved husband of the late Barbara nee Hazen; Loving father of Gary (Karen) Bixler, Stephen (Glenda) Bixler; grandfather and great-grandfather to many; Fond brother of Eleanor (Lenny) Benhart and Roy Steigerwald; Dear uncle of Sandy (Dick) Siwicki. Visitation Wednesday March 27th from 3:00 p.m. until time of funeral service with military honors at 7:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge. Interment private.
