Ross Pollina, age 79, passed away on August 18, 2025 at his home in River Grove, Illinois. Ross was a proud Veteran of the United States Marines serving 21 years as a Gunnery Sergeant and was active during Desert Storm.
Ross was born on July 28, 1946 in Ventimiglia di Sicilia, a town in the Metropolitan City of Palermo , Italy to the late Rosario Pollina and the late Josephine (Dina) Pollina.
Beloved husband of Ellen (Enders) Pollina for 44 years. Loving father of Russell (Roya) Pollina, Lisa (Marcus) Benesch, Dana (Joe) Fazio and Mark Pollina. Dearest grandfather of Jackson, Joey, Riley, Johnny and Kamran. Fond brother of Sarah (the late Ned) Rotolo, Cathy (the late John) Colletti and Andrew (Corrine) Pollina. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Ross will take place on Friday, August 22, 2025 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge, Il. Funeral Saturday, beginning at the funeral home at 9:00 am and then proceed to St. Cyprian Church in River Grove for 10:00 am Mass. Entombment will follow at the indoor mausoleum at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
