After a long and courageous journey through the fog of Alzheimer’s disease, Rosetta Geraci (née Panzeca) peacefully departed this world on November 14, 2025, at the age of 85, in her home surrounded by those who loved her most.
Born in Caccamo, Sicily, Rosetta filled the lives of those around her with kindness, humor, and a quiet strength that endured even as her memory faded. Throughout her years, she found joy in the simple things – food, faith, and family. For 56 years, she was lovingly devoted to her husband, John, as together they built a beautiful life.
Rosetta’s life was rich in the many roles she embraced: daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. In each, she left a legacy of devotion and love. Though in her final years she often drifted between moments and faces, her spirit never dimmed.
She was cared for, protected, remembered, and deeply loved—long after names and places sometimes slipped away. Her laughter, warmth, and gentle stubbornness remain etched in the hearts of all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road, Geneva, IL. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Per Rosetta’s wishes, visitation will be limited to one hour prior to the Mass, and all services will conclude following the Mass. Entombment at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, or offered through simple acts of patience and compassion toward someone who may no longer remember, but still feels deeply.
