Rosemary Pedersen, age 95, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Rosemary was born on September 19, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late James Murphy and the late Helen Murphy (née Kinateder).
Rosemary was the beloved wife of the late Mark Pedersen. She was the loving mother of Janet (Jim) Bojan, Carol (Dan) English, Dave (Debbie) Schnoebelen, Ray (Elaina) Schnoebelen, Donna (Mike) Vasile, and Kelli Olson. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Greg (Kathy) Schnoebelen. Rosemary was the cherished grandmother of 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her life. She was also preceded in death by her loving sisters, Lorraine (the late John) Higgins and Helen (the late Tom) Kernan. She was a fond aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Rosemary embraced life with a joyful spirit and found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending time at the casino playing her favorite slot machines, dancing whenever she had the chance, and faithfully cheering on her beloved Chicago Cubs. Above all else, her greatest joy was her family. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, creating memories they will forever hold close to their hearts.
A woman of deep and unwavering faith, Rosemary was devoted to prayer and never missed watching Sunday Mass celebrated by Cardinal Cupich. Her kindness, gentle heart, and steadfast faith touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She also shared a treasured friendship with Betty Olson, whose companionship meant so much to her throughout the years.
Rosemary's love, warmth, and generous spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of faith, love, laughter, and devotion to family will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
Visitation for Rosemary will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Avenue, Norridge, Illinois. Family and friends are asked to gather at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. before proceeding to Immaculate Conception Church for a 12:30 p.m. Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, Illinois.
