On October 6, 2021, Rosemary Lauretta Galluzzo (nee Zito) passed away peacefully at age 97. Rosemary was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.

Early in her marriage, Rosemary’s character and commitment were tested when her husband contracted a severe case of polio. With the help of her family and girded by her faith, she balanced motherhood, care of her husband, and work with remarkable grace. Encouraged by her husband and family to maintain her strong connections to the community, she served her parish and was active in the leadership of the Italian American Veterans Ladies Auxiliary. After her husband’s death in 1972, Rosemary established a career working for Parkway Bank in Harwood Heights, IL. She served in various capacities retiring as officer in the Trust department. Rosemary continued to nurture strong relationships even late in life. She was blessed by her friendships and the addition of grandchildren through the marriage of her son. The last years of her life were filled with gratitude for the love she continued to share with her family and friends.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband Fred P. Galluzzo. her parents Dominick Zito and Filomena Zito (nee Mauriello), sister Madelyn Calomino (Joseph), brother Clemento, and nephew Samuel Calomino. She is survived by her son Fred A. Galluzzo (Sharon Rice), niece Gracemarie Kornhauser (Jeff), niece in-law Susan Metcalf Calomino, granddaughter Lauren Eby Clemens (Matthew) and great grandchildren Beatrice Eby Clemens and Arthur Rice Clemens.

Out of concern for the health of our family and friends, in lieu of full funeral service at this time, a visitation and brief service will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021, from 9:00 am until time of funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge, Illinois, and then immediately followed by procession and burial at St. Joseph’s cemetery in River Grove, Il. The family is planning a memorial service and luncheon for the Spring of 2022.
