Rose Wajda, nee Cavanaugh, born on November 17, 1957, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2019. Rose was the beloved daughter of the late Antoinette, nee Hartel, and the late Dale Cavanaugh; cherished sister of Sandy (Dave) DeChant; loving aunt of Matthew (Melissa), Eric (Liz) and Steven DeChant; great aunt of Miles, Jackson, Ethan, Joseph and Autumn DeChant; dear friend of Faye, nee Johnson, and Mike Voight. She was an alumna of Our Lady of Good Counsel High School class of 1957. Rose was employed from 1971 to 1994 at Wheels, Inc. as the manager of client auto and corporate insurance, and fleet safety programs. She chaired the building committee to oversee the design and construction of a new 60,000 square foot facility and the renovation of the existing 60,000 square foot building. In 1993, Rose and her friend Faye started Info-Seekers in Wheeling, Illinois, a private investigation and pre-employment screening service. She was most proud of the fact that, in handling collections, they only had two receivable write-offs. In 1993, Rose began working at Kaufman Hall as a manager of contracts and legal review, as well as Privacy Officer. During her time at Kaufman Hall, she used her skills in organization, management and interpersonal relationships to guide and mentor her team to achieve and surpass company goals. Rose was a dog lover, especially boxers, and enjoyed her time with Houdini, Smudge, McCoy, Cooper and Theo. She was a life-long Cubs fan and was deliriously happy when they played in and ultimately won the 2016 World Series. Rose was a staunch believer in the rule of law, doing the right thing, and the power of positive thinking. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and co-workers.
