Rosa Giazzon, nee De Bortoli, 91, of the far northwest side of Chicago. Beloved wife of 62 years to the late Guido Giazzon. Loving mother of Albert (Monica) Giazzon and Guido P. (Beth-Anne) Giazzon. Proud grandmother of Nicolette, Natalie, Joseph, Thomas, Matteo, and Piero Giazzon. Preceded in death by siblings Giorgio, Antonio, Desi and Pietro.
Rosa was born on December 17, 1934 in the small town of Santa Giustina in the Italian Dolomites. She married her late husband Guido in 1959 and immigrated to Chicago shortly after. Rosa grew up on a farm in Formegan, Italy and worked in the family restaurant. She continued cooking professionally for most of her life at the Belvedere restaurant on the Northwest side of Chicago. She retired after 25 years, only to go back to preparing breakfast at Taft High School. Rosa was a devoted wife, supportive mother, and loving grandmother who could sew anything and cook everything. Anyone entering her home was assured not to leave hungry.
