Rosa Dillie, beloved wife of the late Marcel, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving children. She was 88 years old. Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, Gaetano and Rosa Inserra, and her siblings: Loreta, Baldassare (Caterina), Rosario (Rosa), Vincenza (Filippo), Salvatore (Rosalia), Caterina, and her sister-in-law Therese (Alfred).
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Marie-Claire (William) and Gaetan (Debbie), her grandchildren, Robert (Stephanie), Marcel, and Nicole, as well as her great-grandchildren, Matthew and Paul. Rosa is also survived by her sister Maria (the late Jean), her brother Giuseppe (the late Karen), and her sister-in-law Rosalia (the late Salvatore). She was a devoted aunt, great aunt, and Godmother to many nieces and nephews, who will forever cherish her memory.
Rosa was truly an angel on earth, loved by all who knew her. Not only was she an exceptional cook, but her baking, especially, won the hearts of many.
Born in Italy, Rosa moved to France at the age of 14, where she met her husband, Marcel. It was in France that they had their two children, Marie-Claire and Gaetan, before the family moved to the United States in 1972 where they built a life filled with love, kindness, and generosity. Rosa was always ready to help anyone in need, offering her warmth and compassion to friends and strangers alike.
Her legacy of love, strength, and selflessness will continue to inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed but forever in our hearts.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 6th, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W Lawrence Ave, Norridge, IL. Funeral services will commence on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady Mother of the Church.
