Ronald J. Gunia

Ronald J. Gunia, age 66, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025. Ron was born on July 22, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Stanley and the late Adeline Gunia. Beloved husband of Teresa (nee Sawicki) Gunia for 45 years. Loving father of David (Larysa) Gunia. Cherished grandfather of Kelly Marie Gunia. Fond brother of Carol Gunia. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. 

Ron was an avid gardener who took great pride in his yard and plants. He was a devoted hockey fan, especially of the Montreal Canadiens, and had a lifelong love for rock and roll music. Ron will be remembered for his quiet strength, dedication to his family, and the joy he found in life’s simple pleasures.

Visitation for Ron will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, Illinois. The funeral will take place the following day beginning at the funeral home at 9:30 am and then proceed to Queen of Peace Parish at St. Eugene Church for 10:30 am Mass. Interment will follow at Maryhill Cemetery, Niles, Illinois.
