Ronald F. Ek, Sr., age 86, United States Army Veteran, passed away peacefully on Christmas Day 2022. Ron was the beloved husband of the late Pennelope "Penny", nee Rhodes; loving father of Michael R. (Kym), Ronald F. Jr. "Jay" (Cathy) and Steve R. Ek; dearest son of the late Pearl and Sigurd; cherished grandfather of Taylor, Erica, Alex, Matthew, Marshall, Brendan, Kathryn, Austin, Sean, Fionna, Maggie and Aidan; dear brother of Sharon (the late Bob) Chrabot and the late Dennis (the late Marge) Ek; fond uncle of Cheryl (Ray) Grilli, Eric (Andria) Chrabot, Kelly (Bob) Wood and the late Dennis Ek.
Ron was a founding member of Midwest Street Rod Association.
Visitation Thursday, December 29, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until an 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL.
The interment will be at the Norwood Park Home Cemetery within St. Adlabert Cemetery in Niles.
