Romeo Nanto

Romeo P. Nanto, age 89, U.S. Army Veteran, passed away peacefully at home on January 2, 2022. Romeo was the beloved husband of Elizabeth, nee Kabot, for 49 wonderful years; loving father of Angela Elizabeth (Rudolph) Zarate; dearest son of the late Maria and Domenico Nanto; cherished grandfather of Isabella and Dominic Zarate; dear brother of his loving sister Juliet Nanto and the late Palmiro Nanto; fond uncle of many. Romeo was born and raised in the historic Pullman area of Chicago, and he worked for the City of Chicago water department for many years. Visitation Sunday, January 9, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. Funeral services begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, at the funeral home, and will then proceed to St. Monica Church for Mass at 10:00 a.m. The interment will follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles.
