Roger Martin Scott
September 2, 1946 – July 4, 2025
Roger was born on Labor Day 1946 in Evanston, Illinois to Robert and Ruth Scott and spent his childhood in the family home in Skokie, Illinois. He attended Northern Illinois University, but had to drop out in his Senior year after his father died. He then started work at Littell Machine Company in Chicago as Production Control Manager and stayed with the same company until his retirement.
His life changed in 1977 when he met Barbara Kalder, The Salvation Army, and Jesus. Roger and Barbara were married in 1978 and he became actively involved with the Salvation Army’s work at Norridge Citadel as Head Usher and 5

Grade Sunday School teacher. He taught classes in financial management and counselled many people individually with financial matters. He also coordinated various Salvation Army Golf Tournaments.
His love for golf started as a teenager, golfing with his parents, and continued throughout his life. He was a
proud
member of the Northern Illinois Amateur Golf Association for over 50 years, served as its President for many years, and NIMAGA ---meaning Northern Illinois Mens Amateur Golf Association---- was displayed on his license plate and was his email user name. He took over 40 trips to Scotland to play its links courses and was a volunteer at many professional and college golf tournaments.
He was predeceased by his only sister, Barbara Scott, and his parents Robert and Ruth Scott and nephew Jeff Ozburn. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, cousins Burt Wright III (Kathy) and Linda Hoffmann (Phil), as well as nieces Jeanne Nelson (Danny), Laurie Ozburn, nephews Greg Ozburn, Chris Ozburn (Celeste) and great-nieces and great-nephews Lauren Ozburn, Laine Ozburn, Duncan Ozburn, Gracie Ozburn, Hana Nelson, Miles Nelson, Noah Ozburn and Zuzu Ozburn.
Visitation will take place on Monday, July 14, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at The Salvation Army Norridge Citadel, 8354 W Foster Ave, Norridge, with a Funeral Service beginning at 4:00 p.m. Interment will be private. Info: 708-456-8300
