Roberto Antonio Penate went peacefully to be with his lord and savior on August 10, 2012. Roberto a beaming Christian man of God and loving example to his family, church brethren, and friends was born on November 6, 1958 in San Lorenzo, El Salvador.Son to the late Adelina Guevara and Benjamin Penate. Roberto was preceded in death by his siblings Erlinda and Carlos Penate. He is survived by his siblings Esther, Carmen, Rosa, Vicente, Ismael, Jorge, Jose-Cristino, and Juan Penate. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.Roberto married the love of his life and was a loving faithful husband to Teresa Bustamante for over 25 years. He was a loving and guiding father to his daughter Elizabeth Gonzalez, sons Urian and Eli Penate. He was a father and husband role model to his son-in-law Tony Gonzalez. His boundless energy and love was devoted to his grandchildren Nathan, Jazlynn, Suzel, and Ellie Gonzalez.Roberto immigrated to Chicago, IL in 1979. He graduated from Truman College and attended Northeastern Illinois University and Seminario Biblico Hispano (Bible seminary). He worked in the printing business since immigrating to Chicago. Roberto enjoyed the outdoors, physical fitness, and excelled in martial arts. But his main focus and passion was to study and spread the word of God. He labored jubilantly doing so along with his church family at Kildare Baptist Church (Chicago) where he was a faithful servant and leader for over 25 years.Roberto’s only wish in his time on earth, up to the last moments of his life, was that every person give their hearts and lives to the Lord Jesus Christ, so that one day they too could have eternal life.
