Robert J. Schumacher, born February 14, 1948. Survived by his loving wife Kathleen of 23 years. His children Robert, Christopher(Chamarin), Roberta(John) Bazianos and Kelli(Nick) Battaglia. His sister MaryAnn(Bill) Ingersoll and sister-n-law Carol(Rich). Loving and Devoted Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Uncle, Cousin and Friend to many. Proceeded in death by his Parents George and Mary Schumacher and brothers Ron, Johnny and Rich.
As a young adult, Bob enlisted in the US Marine Corps Reserves. While enlisted he became a Chicago Police Patrolman. Then retiring proudly as Detective after 42 years. He served his community with pride and honor each day. For decades, Bob enjoyed protecting and securing the friendly confines of Wrigley Field. He was a close second to his mother as the biggest Cubs fan. Bob loved spending time with his family, apple picking, fishing, bowling, bags, watching a good medical show and “Suits”. The most simplist of people, who only needed a ray of sunshine, the water, a cocktail in hand and music playing in the back. Grandkids who never could have done anything wrong and a dog whisper to any 4 legged friend he saw. He will be extremely missed and is resting peacefully.
Memorial donations in Robert's name may be directed to Wounded Warriors, St. Jude Children's Hospital or The National Police Dog Foundation would be appreciated.
