Robert L. La Paglia, age 94, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2024 in the company of his loved ones. He was the loving son of the late Angelo and Mary (Rini) La Paglia. He was preceded in death by his beloved siblings, William (Dorothy), Rose (Joe) Bossi, Johanna (Stanley) Priola, Angelo (Faye), Anna Marie (Paul) Genova, Salvatore (Shirley), and Vincent (Shirley). He was the loving and cherished uncle of the late Joe (Tike) Bossi, Barbara (the late Pat) Smith, Joyce (the late Don) Foglio, Ronald (Bonnie) Bossi, David (Diana) La Paglia, Mary Anne (Michael) Avram, Louise (Tom) Cradick, John Genova, Lawrence (Donna) La Paglia, James (Mylinda) La Paglia, the late Kenneth La Paglia, Vincent (Toni) La Paglia, and Sharon (Ed) Cradick. He was the beloved great-uncle of 26 great-great-uncle of more than 20, and a recent great-great-great-uncle. He was a special friend of Cathy, Laurie, and Eddy (George).
Bob took great pride in the many years he worked in the elevator industry at C. J. Anderson. He enjoyed serving for many years on his condominium association board. In his younger years he bowled in a league with his brothers, brother-in-law, and several childhood friends. His favorite pass time was playing the ponies; it was a special treat to have Uncle Bob take you to the track. He was kind and patient and, as a result, taught several of his nieces and nephews how to drive. He was always there for his family and it was a privilege for many of us to be there with him in his final days.
Visitation Friday, November 1, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. Funeral services begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home, and will proceed to St. Rosalie Catholic Church, 6750 W. Montrose Ave., Harwood Heights, IL for Mass at 10:30 a.m. The entombment will follow at St. Adalbert Catholic Mausoleum 6800 N. Milwaukee Ave., Niles, IL. For more information call (708)456-8300.
