Robert E. Given

(September 21, 1945 - Tuesday January 25, 2022.)

Robert (Bob) Given of Berwyn, Illinois suddenly passed away at the age of 76 on January 25, 2022. Bob was born on September 21, 1945 in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada to Emery and Dorothea Given (nee Edwards), both proceeding him in death. From an early age Bob's talent and passion for ice hockey was apparent and he continued to enjoy and excel within the sport until his passing.

Not a single person who met Bob could deny his mechanical inclination and ability to problem solve any task at hand. Within his working years, Bob exercised his astute problem solving talents when working within airline manufacturing, farm machinery and the automotive industry. Bob's quest for knowledge led him to take up several hobbies and interests. He enjoyed working on and fixing his personal and friend's vehicles, challenging his computer skills, building creative furniture pieces and storage areas as well as reading up on the latest technological advances.His compassionate nature could be seen all throughout his hobbies; whether it be caring for his beloved dogs, tending to his plants or finding the perfect feeder to take care of the neighborhood birds. Bob always found creative ways to ensure all were taken care of. Bob will always be remembered by his friends and family for his unmatched hard- working nature and as a coffee connoisseur.

Robert was the beloved husband of Maryann Given (nee Brvenik); loving father of Bart (Auburn) Given and Wendy (Christopher) Margowski; proud grandpa of Brady, Everly, Giselle, Wynter and Autumn; dear brother of Norma (the late Ed) Shack and the late Ted Given; fond uncle of Cathy (Warren) Ralph and James Shack. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 10:00 am until the time of the Chapel Service at 1:00 pm at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave Norridge, IL 60706.
