It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rich DiVito, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend, and respected real estate professional, who died peacefully at the age of 61 after a courageous, nearly two-year battle with brain cancer. Known throughout Chicago as a man of great character and unwavering integrity, Rich will be remembered for his commitment to family, strong work ethic, and the deep sense of loyalty he extended to family, friends, colleagues, and clients alike. He made a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Margaret, and their two beloved children, Philip and Emma, who were his greatest pride and joy. He is survived by his parents, Philip and Domenica (Mae) DiVito, his brother Mario (Tracy), and his nieces Sophie and Mia, as well as a large and loving family, including many cousins and dear friends. His love for his family was boundless, and he faced every challenge with strength and grace, inspired by their support.
A memorial service will be held on March 29, 2025 at: Blessed Carlo Acutis Parish – St. Hedwig Church 2226 N. Hoyne Chicago, IL 60647. Visitation from 9:15 am – 10:00 am Mass 10:00 am – 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to “Gray for Glioblastoma Society” at grayforglioblastoma.com or the “Charlie Foundation” at charliefoundation.org. The Charlie Foundation offers resources and support for individuals utilizing ketogenic diets to manage epilepsy. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, resilience, and integrity will live on in all who knew him.
