Lt. Ralph F. Aimers, 87, WWII Navy Vet., beloved husband of 64 yrs to Helen M., nee Mulder; devoted father of Scott (Mary) Aimers, Candyce (Joe) Hancock, Dr. William (Sandy) Aimers, Jack (Maribeth) Aimers and Mark (Susan) Aimers; proud grandfather of Kelly (Mick) Vassilev, Joshua Hancock, Jason (Megan) Hancock, Erika (Matthew) Whelan, Jacob Aimers, Erin (Joshua) Rose, James Aimers, Julie Aimers, Joseph Hancock, Jessica Aimers and Justin Aimers; loving great-grandfather of Haley Hancock, Noah Rose, Lola Rose, Owen Vassilev, Chloe Hancock, Alex Whelan and Zachary Vassilev; dear brother of the late Audrey (the late Tom) McNelley, the late Alfred (Doris) Aimers and the late Bonnie (Art) Manos; beloved uncle of Debbie, Lee, Mike, Mike, Pat, JB, Richard, Pat, Carol and James; dear friend of many years to Robert Barsotti. Ralph was a Carrier Pilot during the war and served his country for 23 years. Ralph was also employed at the Chicago Tribune for over 40 yrs. Memorial Mass Saturday, Sept. 8, 10 a.m. at St. Paul of the Cross Church, 140 S. Northwest Hwy., Park Ridge.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 225 N.
