Phyllis A. DeSio, 86 of Bloomingdale, formerly of Westmont, passed away January 21st, 2018. Loving sister of Frank (the late Barbara) DeSio, Camillo (the late Collette) DeSio and the late Gloria (the late Erich) Hene. Cherished aunt and great aunt of many nieces and nephews. Phyllis was a respected artist and art teacher who was a former member of the Oak Park and LaGrange Art Leagues. She showed her work for many years in local Art Fairs and Galleries including the Old Town Art Fair, Art in the Barn, Oakbrook Art Fair and the Art Institue of Chicago. She was well known for her outstanding paintings of Depression Era subjects and later for her unique works with “dolls and eggs” and still life subjects with lace. Phyllis was also a member of the Colored Pencil Society of America and has been published in various art instruction books. Her work is represented in both private and corporate collections. Her good nature, kindness and willingness to share her talent will be remembered by many.
