Phillip Joseph Saia, 61, went to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family on April 17, 2019 in his home in Chicago, Illinois. He is survived by his wife, Cecile Saia (nee Joda) and daughters, Lisa (Anthony) Scalessi, Catherine Saia, Amy (Justin) Koda and his sister, Connie (Frank) Ruscitti. He was a loving grandfather to Dominic & Ava Scalessi and Wesley & Paige Koda. He was preceded in death by his mother, Fay Saia and father, Sam Saia. Phill’s life was filled with his love of family, classic cars, Italian cooking, Chicago sports and telling (and retelling) a good story. After his career as an accountant at Cozzini, Inc., he spent many happy days cruising in his 1966 Pontiac GTO with Cel, preparing Sunday dinners and spoiling his grandchildren whom he loved dearly. Those who knew Phill appreciated his sense of humor, his work ethic, his solutions for any challenge and his commitment to his family. He will be lovingly remembered by his family, friends and all who knew him. Visitation Tuesday April 23 from 3 to 9:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge.
