Philip D. Spagnolo 97, of Norridge, at Peace with Christ, Saturday, November 23, 2024 after a long illness. Philip attended Crane High School in Chicago and was drafted into the United States Army during World War II, serving in North Africa, the Middle East, and Europe with the 29th Infantry Division. After the war Philip returned to Chicago and studied drafting at IIT. Philip spent 48 years at James H Anderson and Company in Hillside where, as Vice President, he was responsible for overseeing countless construction projects throughout the city and suburbs including the air-conditioning of the U505 submarine at the Museum of Science and Industry, the McCormick Place expansion, the United Center, the skyscrapers at 311 South Wacker, Doral Plaza, and 2 North LaSalle, and the Oceanarium at the Shedd Aquarium to name a few. Philip was a member of the Sheet Metal Contractor’s Association and the Western Trade Association. Upon retirement, Philip took up woodcarving and spent many hours fishing and watching football. Even though his professional accomplishments were many, Philip’s greatest legacy is his family. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rosalie, his three sons William (Tina), Don (Mary), and Philip (Bridget), his 8 grandchildren: Philip (Tori), Anna Kate, Olivia, Jamie, John, Roberta, Francesca, and PJ, his first great grandchild, Don David and his sister Josephine. Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Nancy and Salvatore and his siblings Marion and Billy. Visitation Sunday, December 1

Funeral Services Begin : Monday 9:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home and will proceed to St. Paul of the Cross Church, Park Ridge. Funeral Mass 10:00 A.M.. Interment with Military Honors will take place at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Philip’s name to Mission of Our Lady of the Angels, 3808 W. Iowa St., Chicago, IL 60651
