Patrick “Pat” J Casey, 60, grew up in Chicago’s Austin and Northwest side neighborhoods. Tragically, Pat passed away in his sleep on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 in his home in River Forest, leaving his wife, large family and countless friends shocked and devastated. He leaves behind his adoring wife Colette (Malone/Campbell), children Kimberly, Kelly, Timothy, Katy, and Jimmy Casey and Nicholas, Kyle, and Matthew Malone and his marvelous grandson Daniel. He was raised in a loving Irish family with his dear mother Sarah, devoted father Henry (deceased), siblings Tom (Linda), Maureen (Terry), Eileen (Jim), and Kathleen, and a multitude of loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Pat was a proud and expert Union electrician, Local 134, for 40 years, and became a General Foreman right out of his apprenticeship. Pat was a mentor, skillful, and extremely hard working. He was a master at working with people, running the jobs efficiently and making sure all learned their trade and left laughing. Pat treated each person with respect, kindness, and fairness all the while smiling and joking. He was known for bringing everyone donuts, lunch or a bottle of their favorite beverage, just because that’s the way it’s supposed to be done. His clients were his friends, actually if you knew him, you were his friend. Wherever Pat went, he ran into someone he knew. He most enjoyed being with his family and friends, the beach, travelling, golfing, cooking and helping out anyone in need. He was a Bears tailgate enthusiast and avid Cubs fan. Pat Casey had a remarkable life and was loved by all. We will all miss Pat’s incredible smile, the twinkle in his eyes, and the way he brightened every room and everyone in it. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society at svdp.org/give-now/ or NAMI Chicago at namichicago.org/donate would be greatly appreciated.
