Patricia Ann Werner (née Kellett), known to many as Pat or Patsy, age 94, of Norridge, Illinois, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025. Pat was born on October 27, 1930, in Ironwood, Michigan, to Bob (Walter) and Dagmar Kellett and was the youngest of three (brothers David and Walter). She graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in Ironwood in 1948 and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Cook County School of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois (now part of the University of Chicago). She dedicated her career to caring for others and retired from the Shriners Hospital for Children. In 1954, Pat married the love of her life, Wally Werner. Together they made their home in Norridge, Illinois, and raised three children: Wally, Diane, and Linda. Pat is survived by her daughters Diane (Ron) Wilczenski of Northlake, IL, and Linda (John) Amraen of Palmyra, VA and daughter-in-law Patrice Werner of Fredericksburg, VA. She was a beloved grandmother to eight and great-grandmother to twelve: Christopher (Janna) Werner and children Addison and Elijah of Davenport, IA. Matthew (Elyssa) Werner and children Cora and Wally of Fredericksburg, VA. Katherine Werner of Fredericksburg, VA. Sarah (Matt) Turskey and children Penelope and Eleanor of Urbana, IL. Julie (Andrew) Lichon and children Madison and Remington of Seymour, IL, Megan (Peyton) Stone and children Archer, Boden, Cannon, and baby on the way of Round Hill, VA. Amanda Amraen of Travis Air Force Base, Fairfield, CA. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Wally (2012), her son Wally (2020), and her grandson Andrew Wilczenski (2013). Pat loved her family deeply and delighted in introducing them to her neighbors at the Central Baptist Home in Norridge. She was an active participant in her family’s lively group chat often unintentionally initiating a group FaceTime call which made us all laugh. A devoted Cubs fan, Pat rarely missed a game. She was also an enthusiastic card player who loved gathering her family for games of Liverpool Rummy though if she didn’t win, she swore everyone else must have “cheated.” Over the years she also enjoyed playing Bridge, Pinochle, and Cribbage with friends, and was fortunate to share and win one last game with her daughter the day before she passed.
