Norbert Melsek

Norbert J. Melsek, Age 91, avid mediocre golfer, WWII Navy fighter pilot veteran of Korean Conflict. Beloved husband of the late Laverne, nee Glueckert; loving father of Robin (Thom) Caravello, Paula Schauer, Dan (Barb nee Capoccia); fond grandfather of Gina (Doug) Schuyler, Lisa (Matt) Neenan, Dana (Justin) Steinecker, Jason Schauer, Lana Lietz, Jeff (Casey), Matt and Adam Melsek; great grandfather of T.J. and Claire Schuyler, Joe, Sara and Jack Steinecker, Mia Lietz and Noah Melsek; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was an employee of Illinois Tool Works (Signode Corp.) Norbert was an usher, Eucharistic Minister, past president of Men's and Seniors Club, all at St. Monica's Church. Visitation Friday, Nov. 2 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge. Funeral Saturday 9 a.m., from the funeral home, and will proceed to St. Monica Church, Mass 10 a.m. Entombment All Saints Mausoleum.
