Nicolas Joseph “Nick” Anzalone, age 43, of Tampa, Florida, passed away on March 2, 2026, after a valiant, nearly five‑year battle with gastric adenocarcinoma.
Born December 5, 1982, in Chicago to Liz and Larry Anzalone, Nick’s warmth and charm left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He earned both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree and built a career across several fields, including finance and security. Nick approached work with the same diligence and integrity he brought to his family, friendships, and community: always generous with his time, eager to help others, and quick with a thoughtful word or a listening ear.
He took immense pride in being a devoted son, brother, husband, and father, and nothing brought him greater joy than being Dad to his children. A lifelong Chicago Bears fan, he carried his hometown pride with him every day. He loved music, the Savannah Bananas, had an encyclopedic ability to quote movies, a keen eye for a thrift find and an enviable collection of vintage clothes, records, and tchotchkes.
Nick is survived by his wife, Jaleeza; his children, Nico and Luca; his stepdaughter, Maddie; his mother, Liz; his father, Larry; his brother, Larry Jr. (Ashley); his nieces, Ruth and Rose; his nephew, Bennett; his paternal grandfather, John, and grandmother, Sharon Albright; his beloved dog, Lucy; and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who felt like family. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Jakub and Janina Zelek, and his paternal step-grandmother, Karen.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Debbie’s Dream Foundation (https://debbiesdream.org) or to his GoFundMe, which will be converted into a college fund for Nico & Luca.
