Nicola V. Ruggieri, 86, at rest June 9, 2024.
A beloved father and pillar of the family...
A wise and courageous man, he came from Italy at the age of 30 without knowing a word of English. Despite this, he made his way from working in a factory to working in construction. After a few years, his ambition and risk-taking personality allowed him to found Norridge Sewer & Water Construction in 1986. Starting from an old Sanford & Son truck and used rusty backhoe, his business has grown into a successful family business through sheer determination and hard work. Even during his retirement, he never rested, always working on a project or tending to his prideful vegetable garden and fruit trees.
He was a master storyteller, sharing tales of his past, and a strict but caring mentor who taught his children and grandchildren invaluable life lessons. His legacy of resilience and dedication will live on to future generations. We will forever look up to him and carry his wisdom in our hearts.
