Nicholas Michael Soppi, 88, born in Durres, Albania, passed away on December 16. Nicholas will be dearly missed by his wife of 64 years, Olga, of Naperville, IL. He was preceded in death by parents, Michael and Pashkelina, brothers, Anton, Jasper, Thomas, and Franco, sisters, Victoria and Paulina. He left behind children Joan (Daryl Shuta) Soppi, John (Victoria) Soppi and Vickie (John) Meehan. Cherished grandfather of Michael (Kimberly) Grove, Stephanie (Mitch) Landess and Marissa Meehan and Savannah. A Great Grandfather of Brianna, Cassidy, Sayde, and Nicholas Grove. A dear uncle and great uncle of many loving nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all of his family, friends and neighbors. Nicholas and his family are grateful for the outstanding care at Edwards Hospital and Meadowbrook Manor. Visitation will be Thursday Dec. 18th from 4 - 9 pm at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge. Funeral begins Friday at 10:00 am from the funeral home proceeding to St. Nicholas Albanian Orthodox Church 2701 North Narragansett Ave. for 11:00 am service. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
