Nada Celeste Meccia

It is with great sadness that the family of Nada Celeste Meccia (née Ray) of Orland Park, IL, announces her sudden passing on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at the age of 80. She was born on July 20, 1945, in Chicago, IL.

Nada is survived by Frank, her one true love, best friend, husband, and soulmate of 47 years; her sister Carol Hundley; sister in law Donna (Frank) Greco; brother in law Danny (Lenore) Meccia; and sister in law Vita (Late Steven) Pedersen. She was a beloved aunt to Sonny (Kelley) Pacelli; Anthony Rempas; Keith Fassel; Crystal (Dan) Gligorovic; Stevie Gurnicz; Carla Rempas; Frankie (Reagan) Greco; Natalie (Thomas) Daly; Nancy (Michael) Kloka; Nicolette (David) Holder; Dina (Jason) Hurst; and Christopher Pedersen and a cherished great aunt to many nieces and nephews. She will also be deeply missed by her loving dogs, Maggie and Giada. Nada was preceded in death by her son Vincent Ray, her mother in law Geraldine Meccia, and her brother in law Steven Pedersen.

A Celebration of Nada’s life will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, at Old St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 700 W. Adams St., Chicago, IL.

Nada’s love of gardening, her kind spirit, generosity, and compassion touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be profoundly missed by her family, many friends, and everyone whose life she brightened.
