Migdalia Marquez

Migdalia “Laly” Marquez, age 69, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2026. Laly was born on October 5, 1957, in Lares, Puerto Rico, to the late Pedro Quintana and Joaquina Reboyras

Laly was the beloved wife of Tony Marquez, with whom she shared 45 wonderful years of marriage. Loving mother of Denise Shuttleworth and Gabriel Marquez. Cherished grandmother of Khloe and Charles Shuttleworth, who brought immense joy and happiness to her life. Dear sister of Albert (Maria) Quintana, Pedro Quintana, Maria “Tete” (Norberto) Quintana and Joaquina “Quinita” (Pedro) Quintana. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews, and a dear cousin and friend to many.

Laly loved her family dearly, and nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her loved ones, especially her cherished grandchildren. She found joy in cooking, gardening, and caring for her family, always putting the needs of those she loved before her own. Her warmth, generosity, and loving nature made her a special presence in the lives of all who knew her.

Laly will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love she gave so freely, the beautiful memories she created, and the lasting imprint she left on the hearts of her family and friends. Her love will continue to live on through the generations she cherished and the countless lives she touched.

Visitation for Laly will take place on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Thursday, from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 11:00 am at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge, Illinois. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Chicago, Illinois.
