Michele “Mike” Ricchio, age 97, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025.
Mike was born on February 2, 1928, in Castrolibero, Cosenza, Italy, to the late Antonio and Emelia Ricchio. He was the beloved husband of Rachele (née Morelli) Ricchio for 68 years and a devoted family man whose life centered around love, faith, and tradition.
He was the loving father of Francine (Delfo) Bianchini and the late Mario (Debbie) Ricchio. Mike was a cherished grandfather of Nicole (Joe) Gray, Michael (Anne) Ricchio, Eric (Carly) Bianchini, Marc (Natalie) Bianchini, Anthony (Brittney) Ricchio, and Francesca (Collin) Fernandez, and a proud great-grandfather of Olivia, Payten, Joey, Noah, Eva, Hayes, Carter, Cecilia, Rocco, Gino, Vivian, Santino, Dominic, Amelia, Mario, and Lorenzo.
He was preceded in death by his seven loving siblings and his dear sister-in-law, Gilda Morelli. Mike is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will fondly remember his warmth, strength, and unwavering dedication to his family.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge, Illinois 60706. The funeral will take place on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home, then proceeding to St. Eugene Church for 10:00 a.m. Mass. Entombment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, indoor Mausoleum, Des Plaines, Illinois.
Mike will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love he shared and the legacy he leaves behind.
