Michael Wasiukiewicz, age 70, U.S. Army Veteran, passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 31, 2024. Michael was the beloved husband of Ruth, nee Harnen, for 40 wonderful years; loving father of Jennifer, nee Garrido (Joseph) Maul and Michael (Rebecca Welles) Wasiukiewicz; dear son of the late Helyn, nee Stawicki, and Joseph Wasiukiewicz; cherished grandfather of Joey Maul, Mira and Remi Wasiukiewicz; dear brother of Linda (Karl) Cloherty, and brother in law of Mary Jaeger, Tom (Rose) Harnen, Eddie Harnen; fond uncle of Karl, Jr., Alan and Jason Cloherty, James Jaeger, Amber, Adam and Tiffany Harnen.
Visitation Sunday, January 5, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until a 6:30 p.m. Funeral Service. Friends and family will gather at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, at the funeral home, and we will proceed to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL for Military Honors and interment. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Wounded Warrior Project at woundedwarriorproject.org or Tunnels to Towers at t2t.org would be appreciated. For more information call (708) 456-8300.
